1957
From Les Corts to Camp Nou
The social and sporting growth of the 1950s made the Les Corts ground too small. The new stadium opened on 24 September 1957 and brought a rapidly growing fanbase together in a venue designed on a different scale.
Bowl
A geometry wrapped around the game
The elliptical form, stacked tiers and rake build a direct relationship with the pitch. Sectors, vomitories and circulation rings organise the movement of thousands of spectators.
Future
The Espai Barça transformation
The renovation rethinks access, roof, services, hospitality and the relationship with the surrounding area. Timelines and available capacity can change during the works, so we always distinguish historical figures from project targets.
City
More than ninety minutes
The stadium is also an urban node, concentrating shared memory, economic activity and mobility flows. Its evolution aims to broaden how the venue is used and improve the experience before, during and after a match.
